The 2027 Volkswagen Atlas arrives fully redesigned with a bolder look, more power, and the same family-friendly attitude that made it popular. This three-row SUV seats up to seven and uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 282 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is available, and towing capacity reaches 5,000 pounds.
The new Atlas steps up its tech game in a big way. Highlights include a standard digital gauge display, a 12.9-inch touchscreen on base models, an available 15-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB-C ports throughout the cabin, and available dual wireless phone charging. Available features include a generative AI in-vehicle voice assistant, Park Assist, adaptive cruise control with lane-centering, and a premium 14-speaker audio system.
The 2027 Atlas keeps its big, boxy presence but adds a more modern and upscale edge. Redesigned front and rear lighting, available illuminated logos, new color options, ambient interior lighting, soft-touch surfaces, available real-wood décor, and optional massaging front seats make the cabin feel more premium. A second-row bench is standard, while captain’s chairs are available.
