So, what are the trims available, and what exactly is the VW technology package? More importantly, what’s included in the VW Atlas SE with technology?
The base model SE comes exceptionally well-equipped courtesy of its 2-liter, Inline-Four engine alongside a smooth-shifting, 8-speed automatic transmission. Capable of generating an impressive 269 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, the Volkswagen Atlas SE can tow upwards of 5,000 pounds when equipped with the trailer-hitch package.

To call the Atlas SE the base model is incredibly misleading. Standard as a FWD but available as an AWD, the Atlas SE upholds the high-quality standard for which Volkswagens have been known. A 12-inch easy-touch digital touchscreen houses an engaging entertainment system, while the driver has easy access to an impressive 10.25-inch configurable instrument panel. With a 6-speaker audio system, heated steering wheel, power-adjustable seating, and synthetic leather upholstery, it’s easy to see why the Volkswagen Atlas SE is a cherished favorite of Frank Boucher Volkswagen of Racine customers.
There are several important upgrades that the Atlas SE with technology provides. First, this trim increases the wheel sizes from 18 inches on the SE to 20 inches for the Atlas SE with technology. Second, additional features not found in the base model SE include a hands-free power liftgate, eight USB-C ports, remote engine start, front and rear parking assistance features, and a revamped front fascia whose grill includes a light bar. Finally, the trailer hitch is a standard feature of the VW technology package.
This is a common question from customers. It refers to the second trim available on the Volkswagen Atlas, which is officially called the Volkswagen Atlas SE With Technology trim.
The Atlas SE with technology package offers the following list of upgrades over the base model SE.
The Atlas SE with Technology does not include navigation. This option only becomes available from the Volkswagen Atlas SEL trim onwards. That trim is summarized in detail below.
With the Volkswagen Atlas Peak Edition, AWD is standard, as is a beautiful, easy-access panoramic sunroof. Additional high-end upgrades include leatherette seating, beautiful, cabin-wide, multicolor ambient lighting, upgraded exterior bumpers, all-terrain 18-inch tires, and black decorative trim.
The SEL carries over all the bells and whistles of the previous trims but makes leather and heated seating standard. A beautiful, well-positioned digital, multicolor Head-Up (HUD) display is also introduced. This HUD is protected on the windshield without impacting visibility or causing distractions.
The SEL trim keeps the same 12-inch digital touchscreen but now introduces built-in navigation features. Ultimately, the Volkswagen Atlas SEL ups the ante in terms of luxury and comfort while still maintaining the same great features of previous trims.
