Safety features in the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta
While we can’t always predict when a crash will happen, we can prepare for it. The engineers over at Volkswagen spent long hours making sure to incorporate features to keep you and your passengers safe. Read more to find out which features come standard in the new 2019 Volkswagen Jetta.
Features made to keep you safe
The features built into the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta were created to keep you safe and give you peace of mind while driving. The front and rear of the body crumple to help absorb crash energy while a safety cage is incorporated to deflect that energy away from the driver and passengers. The peace of mind comes with the Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS). In the event of a collision, the ICRS deploys airbags, turns off the fuel pump, unlocks the doors and activates the hazards lights.
The brakes have features like Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Control, which all help you stay in control when possible or stop you completely if needed.
On select trims, there are additional Driver Assistance features to give you more confidence while driving. The Driver Assistance uses a combination of cameras and radar sensors to help warn you either visually or through audio about potential threats. These features include:
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
- Blind Spot Monitor
- Light Assist
- Lane Assist
- Front Assist
- Rear Traffic Alert
