Turbo engine specs and powertrain of the 2020 Volkswagen Passat
The Passat will have an all-new plan of attack for 2020, in the form of a turbocharged 2.0-liter TSI® engine. New turbo technology injects cooled air directly into this motor, translating to power ratings that are projected to be as high as 174 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque (an increase of 23 pound-feet from previous model years). This turbo four-cylinder is paired up with a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission with Sport Mode, giving you a more active feel whenever you press the gas pedal.
In an effort to give you even more control over your drive, the 2020 Passat will also introduce steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Using this track-inspired technology, quick shifts are available at your fingertips no matter the situation. Plus, with standard 17-inch wheels, your serious power has quite the exterior appearance to match.
